Don Chiulli

Blues, ballads, and a sense of humor

Don Chiulli is a singer-song writer from Haydenville, Massachusetts. His performances
are about connection and participation, and he loves to make audiences smile.
Originally from Yonkers, Don studied in New York City, in France, and eventually in
Detroit where local blues masters like Bobby East took him under their wings. In 1993,
Don founded the Northampton-based blues-rock band, Dr. Jones, which played
regionally, and later became the Don Chiulli Blues Band. In recent years, Don has been
focusing on solo acoustic guitar, honing his singer-songwriter skills at Luthier’s and
other local venues. He occasionally brings together larger bands for blues-rock parties
mixing standards and original music. Don’s influences include blues greats such as
Muddy Waters, Lightning Hopkins, Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Songwriters
he’s inspired by include Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen.
