Joy Kinigstein

Joy Kinigstein is trained both as an artist and an art educator. Her whole life has been informed by the creative process. She works in a variety of mediums including acrylic and watercolor paintings, as well as collages. Most of her art reflects visual and personal investigations into close friends, family, and herself.

Originally from the New York metropolitan area, Kinigstein has made Western Massachusetts her home since 1984. Haydenville-based, she is a multimedia artist whose backdrops, masks, and props have been showcased in film and theatrical productions, whose illustrations have been seen in book format, and whose sculptural crocheted pieces have been exhibited at curated craft shows. Most recently she taught art at Hilltown Cooperative Charter Public School for 24 years.
